VALUE ENGINEERING

We want to make sure we provide the best value for every dollar the client spends. When possible, we take existing plans and reexamine them to Value Engineer the project. Safety and quality are not compromised, but often, examining a different way of building the project is worth the effort. By concentrating on Value Engineering and taking into consideration the availability of steel, the joist and girder factors and the pre-engineered metal building factors, GEM can engineer a building system unique to the project that factors in the most cost effective measures.

Because many companies are only able to build one way, they tend to try to fit a client's "round" needs into the builder's "square" solution, forcing the client into a building system that does not meet their requirements. GEM, on the other hand, does it all. From pre-engineered to DESIGN/BUILD, and everything in between, GEM approaches their clients' needs in a way that makes sure their clients get what they want, with the unique features they desire. Value Engineering ensures that although the building may be somewhat unique, the client's budget is a major consideration. Value Engineering results in the most features within the established budget.

When GEM employs Value Engineering, it looks at the entire steel package, with the most cost efficient components. As a result, conventional steel structures are combined with pre-engineered metal building efficiencies. We look at what is best for the client; unlike most companies, we can combine a myriad of building materials to provide what best meets the client's needs.

We do not "drive" the client's projects into a specific building solution; we consistently identify the best building solutions to meet the client's specific needs. In doing so, we take into consideration the engineering advantages, component pricing within current steel market, steel availability, location, freight and other miscellaneous factors.
